• Less Invasive Surfactant Administration using a thin catheter and laryngoscopy (LISA)
• Aerosol delivery methods which include devices under evaluation
• Surfactant Administration through a Laryngeal or Supraglottic Airway (SALSA)

Scott Guthrie, MD, is a Professor of Clinical Pediatrics in the Division of Neonatology at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He primarily works at the Vanderbilt NICU in the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN where he also serves as the Chair of Pediatrics. He is the previous Infant Medical Director for the Tennessee Initiative for Perinatal Quality Care and currently leads the Tennessee’s Tiniest Babies project. He is passionate about global health and is a US State Department Fulbright Scholar Specialist. This has allowed him to travel extensively to teach neonatology and help improve care for babies around the world. He is actually heading to Amman, Jordan later today. He is also active in clinical research and has co-authored articles on minimally invasive delivery of surfactant, delayed cord clamping, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, necrotizing enterocolitis, neonatal ventilation, and sepsis.
